MS Bike Ride

September 12, 2017

MS Bike is the largest fundraising cycling series in North America and it’s the experience of a lifetime! Every year since 1989, cyclists of all ages and fitness levels across the country get together to end Canada’s disease: multiple sclerosis.

MS Bike Ride Kelowna 2017 was exceptional.  There was a lot of cheer and laughter in the air as some cyclists braved the smokey air to ride the MS Bike Ride on Saturday September 9th.  Even though the biking portion was cancelled due to the poor air quality from the summer forest fires, there were still bikers gearing for the ride.  In anticipation of the poor air quality, the organizer, Jillian Earl rented a bus for all those who wished to visit the wonderful wineries along the Kelowna route, that offers world-class wine and abundant fresh fruit to sample!  The Kelowna route features breathtaking landscapes over challenging hills, a worthwhile experience.

Day 1 Route

St. Hubertus & Oak Bay Estate Winery
Summerhill Pyramid Winery
Tantalus Vineyards
Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm
Meadow Vista Honey Winers

Day 2 Route

We were able to be a part of this experience, sponsoring the light breakfast on Saturday, and a full pancake breakfast on the Sunday!  Serving up those pancakes sure made the mouth water!  They were light, fluffy, and yummy!  Thank you to all the other sponsors, and EZ Rock who MCED the event.  Norm Letnick (MLA), Steve Thomson (MLA), and councillors from the City of Kelowna also came out to support the many fundraisers and bikers on Saturday.

Such a success is a credit to all the organizers, and the fundraisers.  MS Bike Ride Kelowna surpassed their $95,000 goal.  Congratulations to a job well done!!
